Just Dating / First Date Picnic?

Ok, This will be the first time I have ever done this so I need some help! Next week I am taking this girl out on our first date. She said she likes the outdoors so I thought it would be nice to take her on a Picnic in a Park somewhere in Atlanta.
1. Where do I start with planning this?
2. Do you make the sandwiches before the Picnic or just take the things to make it with? (If I put something she may not like on the sandwich then the whole thing could be ruined) I also don't want to ask her how she likes her sandwiches, I want her to be surprised.
3. Someone told me that we could both go by a place like "Atlanta Bread Company" and get a sandwich made for both of us then going to the park. What do you think?
4. Any ideas of what to do afterwards in the Park or anything?
